ROCKING CHAIR ANNIE FLIES AGAIN

old woman knitting in rocking chair photo

Yesterday, NOVEMBER 3.

We went to the airport separately and met there.

Beanie was dressed more or less like me for the springlike weather down there: cute cotton slacks and jacket, Nikes and a backpack.

But Carmine? She had obviously spent all day at the beauty parlor getting "done." Her expensive makeup was perfection. Her hair was miraculously the honey blond of her youth with a matching hairpiece filling in the sparse places. She looked MAGNIFICENT!!

It made Beanie and me, the ugly ducklings sick to look at her!!

Our flight to Atlanta left on time at 4:15 PM; we changed planes there for the overnight flight to Buenos Aires.

We were so exhausted that we slept very well in the first class section of our plane.

NOW IT IS EARLY FRIDAY MORNING, NOV. 4

I thought I was home until I heard unfamiliar voices quietly exclaiming over the sight below.

BUENOS AIRES!!

"Annie, I can't believe we are actually here,"said Carmine.

We are impressed with the beautiful modern terminal.

Silly but at first we held hands like school children.

We aren't in the least tired. Carmine's adrenaline has been keeping us all going.

Of course there is no one to meet us; we are total strangers in this new place.

Others may see us as little old ladies; but we are thinking 78 isn't all that old, huh?

Although we are starving, we will wait until we reach (by cab) the posh hotel to eat breakfast.

We have an exciting day ahead of us.
Will tell you all about it...tonight.
Love, carmine, beanie, and annie
