to watch the sunrise.

I was also thinking about my table mates for the seated dinner each evening: Henry and I; 3 German men who were polite but mostly by necessity talked with each other.
The sixth person was Rachel____who was very quiet and contemplative last night.

Henry assured me, "She is great...a published mystery writer. Her two books are in the PD James genre. She is on the cruise to work on a new book, away from all the distractions.
"You will just love her, Miss Annie."Henry went on and on. "She doesn't look 40 years old."
How does Henry know all this stuff???

I went down to the cafe for bacon and eggs, hot cereal and rolls before the ship arrived at Trondheim. I like breakfast best of all the meals on the ship. I also got extra pastries to take back to the room, hoping I would have company for coffee sometime.
I was looking at this little map.

table and visit now"
I was definitely going to like Rachel. She is small, 5 ft. tall. Has long lustrous hair. Simply dressed. I asked her if would be walking around Trondheim today.
She said no that she had to work. She called herself a ship recluse. "But maybe we can talk a little each day. A break is great for me!!" I agreed to our talking more at dinner.

So Miss Annie is going to be what EVERYBODY calls me. I hate that. It is
Henry's fault; he always introduces me that way. I'll e-mail Eve and Asta about this!!
Tom and Leslie___ from London invited me to walk with them this afternoon.
___
A very nice youngish couple, who are supposedly on the cruise to
get Tom away from the stress of his law practice. Both are fun!

Later we saw this and more in Trondheim.
The red building is the University of Science and technology. Many of the students we met spoke English.

Although I can't recall the names of EVERYTHING we saw, the pictures will stay with me.
These wooden wharves facing the sea have been there for centuries.
.

Trondheim was founded in 997 as a trading post. It was the capital during Viking times.

Originally home of the working class. I bought a sack of sweets to take back to the ship. I
hoped to have a salon haha in my room after dinner in the evenings with Henry, Rachel and???
(I bought 6 coffee mugs in the gift shop onboard the ship.)

It has amazing bells..v

Modern Trondheim is a combination of science, research and business communites. It has a population of 173,486.

We went to Stiftsgarden, the second palace visited most often by Norwegian Royalty. We saw changing of the guards at the main palace in Oslo. But we didn't go inside.
We DID get to look around inside this one.
I got tired before the ship left Trondheim at noon. I was starving. We had our usual famous cold lunch, the Norwegians take such pride in. I didn't see Rachel or Henry.
Before going back to my room, though, I want to accept that
invitation to visit the bridge.
"Welcome, Miss Annie."

That's it until tomorrow.
When I know more, I'll tell YOU more.
love, annie (I am enjoying my pretend trip so much!!)
